In this activity, you will begin developing your topic and plans for your Research Paper. Remember, your objective for this paper is to analyze issues facing members of your professional or disciplinary community.
Start by identifying the professional and disciplinary communities to which you belong or (hope to belong after completing your degree). For example:
- What program are you majoring in at your University ( my Major is Aeraunautical Science
- What career path are you currently pursuing?
- What kind of organization do you work for, or hope to work for?
Next, consider issues or problems facing your community. For instance, if you are studying X, a contemporary issue is Y.
Provide a brief explanation of two to three issues or problems and answer the following questions:
- What do you already know about the issue?
- What do you still need to learn?
- What kinds of sources might you consult to help you better understand and analyze the issue?
