Karlena:

My name is Karlena Douglass,  I am enrolled in the B.S. Health Care Administration Program.  I am an certified occupational therapy assistant and only needed 39 credit for my bachelors degree.  I may go on for my masters in Occupational Therapy, but have not decided that yet.  Just wanting to finish this degree.

Ethical principles are for there for individuals to assist in deciding health care problems.  Working in the health care industry or even in everyday life we should all live life in a non maleficence way and “do no harm or wrong to others.”  While working as a therapist, there are at some points during a session that a patient may feel discomfort due to flexing or extending an appendage to assist in gaining some degrees on a patient that had recently had total knee arthroplasty and needs to work on getting more extension or flexion in the knee to assist in ambulating.  Yes, I feel that I would have come to the same conclusion about ethical principle, I feel that we are all human and do not usually purposely hurt someone or cause harm, but I know there are people out there that do intentionally hurt others.
