Therapies & Services

Every individual who enters our care will receive an individualized treatment plan, based in our holistic, multidisciplinary approach towards treatment. Our treatment plan is made up of effective, evidence-based therapeutic modalities administered to each individual based around their needs and strengths.

Much of the treatment engages group therapy, and throughout recovery you will be surrounded with individuals with similar problems, facing the same challenges, and seeking the same opportunities for change. It is during recovery where you will be provided with not only the tools and skills to overcome your addiction, but the knowledge and experience of how and when to uses these tools on your way to long term recovery.

Expressive Therapy

Expressive Therapy, such as art and music, is another modality that we use as part of your treatment plan. Your therapist will guide you as you delve into the arts as a way to express emotions.

These expressive therapies help you in a way that is not verbal. Alongside the more traditional group therapies, we will help you engage with the creative arts in a manner designed to address your specific needs

Group Therapy

At Atlanta Detox Center, we strongly believe that group therapy is the foundation of real recovery. In group therapy, our experienced and educated clinical staff will guide you as you build an immediate community of people with the same goal as you, recovery.

At every step of treatment, you can rely on those around you as a resource. Together we can create successful strategies by learning and developing coping skills that will guide your long term recovery.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is a therapeutic modality that encourages one to examine how to take steps towards positive change. The therapy focuses on your strengths and figuring out what motivates you to start making positive changes. Then we can help you build these skills on your way to recovery.

Motivational interviewing is based in positive affirmations. Living in the cycle of addiction can leave you feeling hopeless, depressed, and anxious. With the support of our team and your group, positive affirmations can be a big step towards regaining control of your thoughts and your life.

Case Management

The cycle of addiction can hurt you in more ways than one; you might face legal or professional issues stemming from it. Your case manager will be your advocate and help you assess and amend any issues.

Facing issues like bad credit, dealing with your criminal record, or a job in limbo can be daunting, but we will help.

Part of recovery is returning to a more normal life, during treatment you will have the opportunity to start working towards that. When you are medically and mentally stable, we encourage you to begin working, return to school, begin volunteering, or start training for your next opportunity.

Co-occurring Diagnosis

Co-occurring substance abuse issues and severe mental health disorders play a significant factor in determining your treatment plan. Here at Atlanta Detox Center, we specialize in working with these issues together. We build your individualized treatment plan around your dual-diagnosis.

Severe mental health disorders can be debilitating; it is our priority to give you access to the care you need. You will always have access to psychiatric care and proper medications to keep you well during your time with us.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, known as CBT, is an accepted and common therapeutic modality we use in both mental health and addiction treatment. In the cycle a mental health crisis or throughout your addition, your brain’s reward circuits are malfunctioning as you keep using unhealthy coping methods, like drugs or alcohol, to deal with life. The focus of CBT is to relearn healthy coping skills to build the necessary tool set to engage with the stresses of our everyday lives.

CBT sessions focus on active goals and strategies, designed around your specific needs. The focus is on providing structure and emphasizing direct plans of action.  Our staff will work with you on your goals and support you when necessary.

CBT is educational, focused on you learning effective, new, healthy and safe ways to identify and deal with stress and other triggers you may encounter. As you move through treatment, CBT will help you get used to dealing with stress in a positive manner, without resorting to your old, unhealthy habits.

Aftercare

Your personalized program will help you build the experience and healthy coping skills you need once you exit treatment. This includes strategies to prevent a relapse after treatment. The therapeutic techniques you learn and the community you build will be your strength.

As you progress through treatment, we will focus on giving you a list of resources to use when confronting familiar or new stresses out in the world. We are dedicated to helping you achieve long term success.
